Little Lady of The Month – March

March 1, 2016
  • Hey Little Lady! Tell us a bit about yourself.

Well hello there! I am Ashley M. Pratt, a vivacious 22 year old who takes the time to enjoy everything that life has to offer! I have heard the phrase time and time again that states that all you have to do is “Pass me my highest heels and watch he take over the world”

, needless to say, that is exactly what I set out to do! I am employed at an offshore bank where I have the privilege to function as a Securities Administrator with the hopes of becoming a Securities Officer in the near future; coupled with this, I am a full time student at The College of The Bahamas pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Economics & Finance and a full student at Southern New Hampshire University pursuing an Associate’s Degree in Marketing by means of their online platform.  Over the years, I found that I have a keen interest in youth development, therefore, if I’m not waste deep in paper work, or diving head first into an amazing novel then I am probably somewhere preparing and equipping the youth of our nation to be the leaders of tomorrow!

  • If you could describe a lady in three words what would they be?

I believe that Edith Head summed it up best when she voiced that “Your dress should be tight enough to show you’re a woman and loose enough to show that you are a lady”! If I could describe a lady in three words I would have to say that she must be undoubtedly intelligent, remarkably articulate and indescribably classy!  From my perspective, these are aspects that help to compose some of the most noteworthy women we know today, women whose morals have never been questioned and whose standards have never been lowered to accommodate mediocrity, that is the true definition of a lady!

  •  Why do you consider yourself to be a lady?

I have heard once before that being a female is a matter of birth. Being a woman is a matter of age, but being a lady… that’s a matter of choice; and to this day I don’t regret it!  Unfortunately, I didn’t wake up like this, because being able to epitomize the definition of what a TRUE lady is takes time! I pride myself on being that intelligent, articulate and classy young woman that I spoke about earlier for other young woman to look up to and want to model themselves after!

  • State one reason why you think being a lady is important.

From my perspective, being a lady is important because it forces others to respect you and aids in promoting a greater sense of self confidence… as crazy as that sounds, it’s true! I have always been taught that respect is earned, never given; therefore you dress how you wish to be addressed, you speak how you wish to be spoken to. I have always believed that self confidence is the most attractive quality any lady can possess because it forces one to ask the question, how can anyone else see how great I am; when I am having trouble seeing it myself?

  •  One thing you would like to say to all the little ladies out there?

To all the little ladies out there, don’t let anyone make you feel inferior without your consent! You are a Queen, so model your crown!  Just be yourself and although others to see and appreciate the intelligent, weird, fun, hilarious, beautiful person that you are!

Another Little Lady in her prime being recognized for so much in addition to just simply being a lady.

A little lady who appreciates other little ladies.
