Little Lady of the Month- May

May 8, 2017

Hey little lady, tell everyone a little bit more about yourself.  (e.g. bio. Name, age, occupation, passion).

Hi there beautiful ladies! My name is Katis Brown and I am a 25 year old, Certified Public Accountant at Ernst & Young, a leading Big 4 Accounting Firm in The Bahamas. As an accountant, I perform auditing and accounting services. I enjoy reading and spending time with my family and fiancé.

If you could describe a lady in three words what would they be?

Can I have four please? Lol. A lady is god-fearing, polite, respectful and well-kept.

What’s the first thing that comes to mind when you think of the word ‘lady’?

When I think of the word ‘lady’, I think distinct characteristics – she gives a warm, enchanting and inviting air.

State one reason why you think being a lady is important.

An article titled “What Would Mrs. King Do?” written by a blogger and writer, Deborah King hits the nail on the head. King writes, “A lady understands that her appearance, behavior, and way of communicating provide others with valuable insight into her character. She knows that her true beauty is not acquired at a make-up counter, with a new outfit, or by following the latest Hollywood trend. Rather, she understands true beauty is first inward. A lady understands that her real strength is not found in trying to be like a man, but rather, in being gracious, thoughtful, kind, intelligent, self-assured, and poised.”

What's something you would like to say to all the little ladies out there?

Repeat after me: “I will not compare myself to strangers on the internet!”

Do not compare yourself to people on social media, or anywhere else for that matter. Comparison is the thief of joy, and it will also keep you from doing what God has called you to do. God has put a gift and a call in each of our hearts and it is different from anyone else’s. You are unique and made in his own image and likeness for a specific reason!

Living out someone else’s calling or keeping your eyes on their prize, you will rob those around you of the rare gift God has put inside of you.

The Lord is not a respecter of age, background or knowledge. If you are willing and obedient, He will use the gift inside of you to bless and impact others in a way that you couldn’t even imagine if you chose to use what is in your hand to glorify the Lord!
